Parker Ranch is owned and operated by the Parker Ranch Foundation Trust. The special purpose of the Trust is to enhance the quality of life in Waimea, our hometown, by supporting in perpetuity four non-profit beneficiaries—North Hawai‘i Community Hospital, Hawai‘i Preparatory Academy, Parker School, and Hawai‘i Community Foundation.

The trust, and the value it provides, is the generous gift of Richard Smart, the last descendent of John Palmer Parker to control Parker Ranch. His act of generosity, intended to ensure that the ranch’s hometown would have a vibrant future, is structured in a way to perpetuate giving to the town as it grows. Times have changed since the days of John Palmer Parker. But Parker Ranch continues to foster a culture of uncompromising quality, stewardship, and authenticity.

The deep cultural roots of our ranchers span generations of families who descended from the original cowboys in Hawaii. Our expertise is attributed to perpetuating the paniolo experience and lifestyle, as well as being an innovator and adopter of new techniques to achieve a higher level of ranching success. Today, Parker Ranch is home to 16 cowboys in addition to support staff.

The good things in life are meant to stay that way.
